Pennyroyal
Mentha pulegium
Little used today in cooking. Pennyroyal is added to black pudding in England and to sausages in Spain.
A cup of hot pennyroyal tea can be taken to produce sweating to reduce a fever.
Other Uses
Has insect repellant properties. Add pennyroyal to sprays, creams and vinegar; to repel insects. To repel fleas on dogs add to the rinse water when bathing the animal. Sprinle the dried herb around dog bedding.
