Verbascum thapsus
Mullein acts as a mucous membrane tonic it stimulates expectoration and liquefies mucous.
Mullein is effective in relieving hard persistent coughs, respiratory catarrh, colds, tracheitis, whooping cough, pleurisy and is BHP specific for bronchitis with a hard cough and soreness.
Other Uses
The leaves of Mullein can be smoked as a substitute for tobacco.
